The trip
Departing
from “The Cape of Storms”, Cape Town South Africa our journey will take us to
Napoleon’s St Helena Island across to Rio de Janeiro, following the Brazilian
coast and crossing the Caribbean Sea the real trip will start in Miami Florida.
Entering the Intracoastal Waterway Ataraxia will take us all the way to the
great lakes after crossing the great lakes we will start the descent of the
Mississippi river to end our journey in the Gulf of Mexico. Hereby demonstrating that Ataraxia is an ideal
vessel not only to cross the oceans but also to sail on inland waterways.
During this trip we intend to participate in the Miami boatshow, the Trawler
Fest in Anacortes , the Annapolis boat show and the Baltimore boat show. The
entire trip can then be followed on the website of the American Great Loop
Cruiser Association as well as on our own website www.passagemaker.co.za furthermore articles of the
trip will be published in “Passagemaker” magazine.
